David Rule

About:

David has always loved art, the passion to create art, and the trials and errors involved. His earliest work had hung proudly on refrigerator doors as a child, bedroom walls as a teen, and in many art classes. David attended Kendall College of Art and Design in Grand Rapids, MI. with a major in visual communications. He is inspired by many artists of many different genre’s and is continuously developing his own style, hopefully keeping it interesting. He doesn’t always know what the end result will be when he starts a piece of work and he’s continually thinking from conception thru execution, making changes, sometimes starting over (gesso and David are CLOSE friends). he does finally reach that point on a piece that he is proud to sign his name to. Born in Pennsylvania and with three siblings born if three different states, his family has lived mostly in the midwest with roots in Michigan. He currently lives in Ft Lauderdale,FL. Several moves from Michigan through NYC and Delaware have led him here to continue and grow his art career. David has been a member of the International Society of Acrylic Painters, a member of the Morean Arts Center, has shown in Woodfield Fine Arts Gallery , Graphi-Ko Gallery, and Suntan Arts Center all in Saint Petersburg, FL., as well as several Artwalks in both Saint Petersburg and Gulfport, FL. His main mediums are watercolors, ink, and acrylic. His work reflects a bold use of color and black and white and a love of watercolor and ink for a dramatic impact to the viewer.
